Get To Know Coach Kaylee:

WHAT IS YOUR COACHING EXPERIENCE?

I began coaching in 2011. I also worked closely with the CCU coaching staff in 2013. I have coached at Colorado Momentum VBC, Phoenix Christian Grade School, multiple high school/college camps and quickly joined Fortitude VBC once I moved back to Arizona. At Fortitude, I have been a head coach for 14s-18s teams, led our CIT program, and assisted Nicole as the Co-Director and Recruiting Coordinator floating around to all teams.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PART OF THE FORTITUDE FAMILY?

This will be my 5th year!

WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING EXPERIENCE?

My whole family loves volleyball so got the bug at a young age, but didn’t start playing competitively until 7th grade. I was a setter & right side. After I tore my ACL senior year in HS, I was fortunate to play at Colorado Christian University and one off-season traveled and played throughout Costa Rica! After another injury, I jumped into the coaching world to stay connected and my passion for volleyball grew even more.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT STATES HAVE YOU LIVED IN?

I was born in Phoenix, AZ. Also lived in Texas and Colorado for a few years.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?

I basically eat like a 5 year old... Love Chick-Fil-A!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COFFEE DRINK?

Anything with caramel!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH? (OTHER THAN VOLLEYBALL)

I enjoy all sports. My undergrad was Sports Management. One of my unrealistic dreams would be to own season tickets for every team in Arizona!

WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDES VOLLEYBALL?

I enjoy being busy! Majority of my time goes into volleyball, but I am also a wedding planner. If I have an open day, I substitute teach or babysit, I also have my real estate license. Other than that, I try to hang out with friends, family and my puppy as much as possible.

WHY DO YOU LOVE VOLLEYBALL?

For me, volleyball is so much more than a sport. It gave me skills and relationships that I will have and use for the rest of my life. My goal is to develop the girls both on and off the court (this is why I love Fortitude so much!) I believe that in order to be successful you have to believe in yourself and then work really hard for it. I strive to be a role model and encourage my players so they believe in themselves and know that anything is possible. God gave us all unique talents and abilities - as a coach I get the opportunity to showcase them. I love seeing how each player grows and develops within the short season and even years later!
