Get To Know Coach Kaylee:

WHAT IS YOUR COACHING EXPERIENCE?

I started out by assisting my parents for my little sister's teams working multiple camps as well. While at CCU, after my injury, I helped out as the manager and worked closely with the staff. I also coached at Colorado Momentum VBC. When I came back to AZ I coached at Phoenix Christian Grade School for one year and then quickly joined Fortitude VBC. I have been a head coach for the 14s-18s teams and led CIT for a season. I also help Nicole as the Co-Director and Recruiting Coordinator floating around to all teams.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PART OF THE FORTITUDE FAMILY?

This will be my 5th year!

WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING EXPERIENCE?

I was born playing volleyball. I was always a setter & right side hitter. I tore my ACL in High School during my senior season, but was still fortunate to play at Colorado Christian University on a scholarship. I even had the opportunity to play with them in Costa Rica! However, while at CCU I had a career-ending back injury. I transferred to Grand Canyon University during my junior year and focused on coaching since playing was no longer an option.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT STATES HAVE YOU LIVED IN?

I was born in Phoenix, AZ. Lived in Texas and Colorado for a few years, but now back in AZ.

ARE YOU MARRIED? DO YOU HAVE ANY KIDS?

Nope, but I am a wedding planner on the side!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?

I basically eat like a 5 year old... my perfect meal would be chicken fingers, fries, and ranch!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COFFEE DRINK?

I love the basically anything with caramel!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH? (OTHER THAN VOLLEYBALL)

I enjoy all sports. My undergrad was Sports Management. One of my dreams would be to own season tickets for all the teams in Arizona!

WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDES VOLLEYBALL?

Majority of my time goes into volleyball, but I am a wedding planner on the side! I also have my real estate license. Other than that, I try to hang out with friends and family as much as possible. I enjoy being busy!

WHY DO YOU LOVE VOLLEYBALL?

For me volleyball is so much more than a sport, it is a passion. It gave me skills and relationships that I will have and use for the rest of my life. My goal is to develop the girls both on and off the court (this is why I love Fortitude so much!) I believe that in order to be successful you have to believe in yourself and work really hard for it. My goal is to encourage my players so they believe in themselves and know that anything is possible. God gave us all unique talents and abilities - as a coach I get the opportunity to showcase them. I love seeing how each player grows and develops within the short season and even years later!
