HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PART OF THE FORTITUDE FAMILY?
Since the beginning. Fortitude is going on 5 years. I've been able to watch us grow from 5 teams to 10 teams, with each year teams getting a little stronger and placing better, while not losing the family, small club feel.
WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING EXPERIENCE?
High school - 3 year, 3 sport Varsity letter winner. During high school, earned multiple honors in all sports, including All State for softball and All Conference and All Region for volleyball. Didn't figure out volleyball was "my sport" until college. I originally was recruited to play both volleyball and basketball at at Waldorf College (Iowa). However, once on campus and into the season, ended up choosing to play only volleyball.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT STATES HAVE YOU LIVED IN?
Born & raised in Iowa. Lived in MN and AZ since college.
ARE YOU MARRIED? DO YOU HAVE ANY KIDS?
Married to Fortitude coach Kory Green with 140+ kids (Our Fortitude family)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COFFEE DRINK?
Caribou Coffee Campfire Mocha (Midwest folks know what I'm talking about!), Dutch Bros iced tea, or straight up Starbucks Iced Vanilla Coffee.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH? (OTHER THAN VOLLEYBALL)

WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDES VOLLEYBALL?
My career --Underwriting Learning and Development @ Nationwide Insurance E&S/Specialty
Hahahaha hobbies other than volleyball....that's funny. Well, we travel at any opportunity we have when we can find some free time. We love exploring and seeing different parts of the country.
WHY DO YOU LOVE VOLLEYBALL?
Volleyball is the ultimate team sport where you have to learn to trust and rely on your teammates. It's so much more about the team than the individual player. My favorite part about volleyball is that at times, it's simply about effort and heart. The crazy rallies are amazing when they go on and on because players simply will not let the ball touch the floor. Players go for it with everything they have, whether it's sacrificing their bodies for the insane dig, running into the bleachers to bring back a ball, or a huge swing without fear to try to put it away and end the rally.
I love making a difference in players' lives, both on and off the court. I strive to be a positive role model and show players they are capable of so much more than what they may believe. They CAN make that crazy hustle play, they CAN be that leader, they CAN get good grades and an academic scholarship instead of just focusing on volleyball so they can choose what school they want to go to instead of being forced to go where they get offered a volleyball scholarship, they CAN do anything they set their minds to. Watching players grow and develop through the years is one of my favorite things about coaching volleyball and Fortitude. We have former players wanting to come back and coach because the club made that big of an impact on their lives. Players learn so many life lessons through volleyball; discipline, leadership, communication, time management, conflict resolution, strength and courage, and on and on. I'm so proud Fortitude has an amazing coaching staff and is able to provide both quality coaching and a positive environment for players.
