Fortitude is offering additional position-specific skills clinics during the season for our athletes to get more focused touches. This training will be led by Bill Bellis. Bill has a wealth of knowledge and focuses on breaking down the mechanics and proper fundamentals.
Fortitude players must sign up through SignUp Genius. Each session will be skill-specific and between 10-24 players.

Coach Bellis is a retired Physical Education teacher from Deer Park, New York. There he was head women's volleyball coach from 1978-2000, (2 years off 1991-92) where he was selected coach of the year 4 times, 3 division championships and guided the Falcons to 7 playoff appearances.
During that time he coached with the top Long Island club, Long Island Power from 1994-2004. During this time he coached levels from 14-18, leading a 15U team to Salt Lake City in 2002 to Nationals and a 16U team to Houston to the 2004 Nationals.
2006 in Arizona, Bill was a volunteer varsity assistant at Boulder Creek, and head 14's coach at Club Summit from Scottsdale. From 2007-2013 Bill was head coach at Sandra Day O'Connor High School (Div. 1), where he compiled a 185-91 record, twice being voted Coach of the year by his peers. 5 of the 7 years at OC, his teams qualified for the state tournament, 2 times making to second round and 2 times to the semi-finals.
During those years Bill coached different levels of club volleyball for AZ Fear and Fluid AZ.
CURRENT POSITIONS: Bill has been with Fortitude Volleyball Club since it started. During the season 2015 team (15U) had strong showing qualifying in Spokane, Washington, earning a trip to New Orleans to Nationals.
Bill was appointed Head Coach at Desert Edge H.S. in Goodyear in 2014. Taking over a program which had won only 16 matches in 3 years, he and his staff made great strides in the first season winning 13 matches, losing 19. The very next season (2016), they made even greater strides winning 27 matches and losing 11 and qualifying for Desert Edge's first ever trip to the state tournament, where they were eliminated in the second round. In 2017, they established themselves as a contender program and qualified for state a 2nd year in row.
